Compatibility and requirements

  • Requires your own free, self-hosted Echolair server and account. No media is included.
  • Add Jellyfin or OpenSubsonic servers through in-app unlocks. Runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and CarPlay.
  • Some advanced themes, icons, EQ profiles, and Watch streaming require Supporter.

How do downloads work?

Pick an album, artist, or song and Echolair saves it to the device you are using, so it plays without a connection.

Does playback switch to offline automatically?

Yes. When the Echolair server cannot be reached, Echolair plays your downloads and keeps browsing available for them.

Where are downloads stored?

On the device itself. Storage use depends on how much you save and the quality of the files on your server.

Can I download to Apple Watch?

With Supporter, you can send downloads to Apple Watch and play them without the phone nearby.

Does the app include media to download?

No. You download from your own Echolair server.
